“In Calabama we find a voice that vulnerably and bravely unhitches definitions from their moorings and asks relevant questions of destiny, identity, purpose, and being. Faraji resolutely challenges the reader to expand their view beyond the page.”

  1. Chloe

Calabama is beautifully written, laid out, and incredibly insightful. It will help you no matter where you are in life, to ask questions about yourself and those around you. These are not just words on a page, Faraji’s formatting and lyricism combine to take the reader on a visual and intellectual literary journey.

  2. Kira

Calibama is such a beautifully written book. Yaa takes us on a journey of self-discovery and pushes us to think outside of the box on topics that are often not thought about as deeply. I love her writing style and the breakdown of definitions really adds a deeper level to each poem. One of my favs!

  3. Monique Meriweather

I love Yaa Asantewaa’s wit, and her carefree spirit. This book takes us into a journey of who she is, and she helps also navigates us through our own lives.
