Valerie Nies is a poet, comedy writer, and gluten enthusiast who grew up eating carbohydrates on the plains of North Dakota. She is the author of the poetry chapbook Imaginary Frenemies. In her free time, she peruses WebMD, loses pairs of sunglasses at record rates, and wonders if the next man she talks to might turn into her next romance, or at least introduce her to a tasty new snack. She lives (and eats carbohydrates) in Austin, Texas, with her gray tabby Henry.
